ORIGIN

Our Congregation was founded in 1874 in Mexico City by a Franciscan Priest — Fray Refugio Morales and three young ladies. Guided by the Holy Spirit and, in the midst of religious persecution, they started to teach the Christian life to children and to take care of the elderly in their own homes, encouraging everyone not to be afraid of being Christians, Catholics, sons and daughters of God.

PURPOSE

The sanctification of its members, being instruments of peace, spreading God's love to everyone in different apostolates: Education, Health Care, Missions "Ad Gentes," Pastoral Work, Retreat Centers, Homes for the Aged, Clinics for the Poor, and wherever the Church needs us.

This variety of apostolates permits each memeber to give herself to God, developing her talents and putting them at the service of the Church with the foundation of PRAYER, humility, joy, simplicity, obedience and charity.

A Franciscan Spirituality is what we want to live every day the fraternity, contemplation and work.

OUR BLESSED MOTHER, THE HOLY VIRGIN MARY, in her advocation of the Immaculate Conception is our model as followers of Christ, as women of God, as consecrated women, and mothers and sisters to all.
